Marek Zirk-Sadowski is a full professor in law and a philosopher at University of Lodz, Faculty of Law and Administration. He is interested in analytical legal theory and philosophy, legal hermeneutics and philosophy of European integration. He published i.a. Understanding Values in Legal Language (in Polish 1984), Law and Cultural Participation (in Polish, 1998) and Introduction to Legal Philosophy (in Polish, 2011). In 2016-2022 he was the President of the Supreme Administrative Court. More information here.

Dr Paweł Skuczyński (University of Warsaw)

Paweł Skuczyński, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in law at the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Law and Administration. He is interested in legal theory and philosophy, judicial and legal ethics and societal self-regulation. He published i.a. The Status of Legal Ethics (in Polish, 2010; in English, 2013), Ethics of Advocates and Legal Advisors (in Polish, 2016) and together with Karol Muszyński Rise and Fall of Social Constitution. Case of professional self-governments (in Polish, 2020). Since 2007 he is the President of the Polish Legal Ethics Institute`s foundation and Chief Editor of the series Library of Legal Ethics. Dr Karolina Gmerek (University of Szczecin)

Karolina Gmerek, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in law at the University of Szczecin, Faculty of Law and Administration. She is interested in legal theory, especially concepts of legal interpretation and conventional acts in law, legal communication, legal education and methodology of interdisciplinary studies. She published i.a. Trial as a Social Communication Occurrence (2019). Since 2019 she is the Secretary of the Legal Language Commission of the Polish Language Council at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Science. More information here.

Dr Mateusz Pękala (Jesuit University Ignatianum in Cracow)

Mateusz Pękala, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow, Institute of Political and Andministrative Sciences. He is interested in sociology of law, especially theoretical concepts of law-making, alternative dispute resolution, public management and methods of empirical research on law. He published i.a. Decision-Making Purview of Legislators (2016), he was also co-editor and co-author of scientific monographs Mediation. Theory, norms, practice (2017) and The faces of mediation. Selected issues (2021). Since 2012 he is the mediator in civil cases. More information here.

Prof. dr hab. Tomasz Gizbert-Studnicki (Jagiellonian University in Kraków)

Tomasz Gizbert-Studnicki is professor emeritus of the Jagellonian University in Kraków, Faculty of Law and Administration. In the years 1988 – 2018 he was the head of the Department of Legal Theory. His research focuses on analytic legal theory, and in particular theory of legal language and legal interpretation. He authored i.a. Lexical Ambiguity in Legal Interpretation (1978), The Language of Law from Sociolinguistic Perspective (1987) and co-authored Methodological Dychotomies. A Critique of Positivistic Legal Theories (2016). He published numerous articles in Polish, English, German and French. More information here.
